The Mental Health Foundation’s Awareness Week (16th to 22nd May) is upon us again and this year’s focus is on “Relationships”.
Healthy Relationships are paramount to maintaining good mental health.
Connecting with people around you such as your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours can help boost your mental well-being.
How much time do we invest each week, month or year building and maintaining good relationships? The awareness campaign is intending to encourage all of us to go that extra mile and spend more time developing these relationships. Take time to care for others. A simple act of kindness can build a relationship and bring people closer together.
Take five minutes out of your day to think about investing more time in being with and listening to friends, family and colleagues
As part of Mental Health Awareness week, RMP are encouraging clients to think about their loved ones. What would happen if they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves either during a short term illness or much longer if their mental state deteriorates and is or becomes more permanent? Decisions like paying bills, selling a property, moving into care, consenting to medical treatment and many other decisions can be hard at the best of times, but when one’s mental health is affected these decisions may become impossible.
By addressing this possibility before it becomes a reality and making a Lasting Power of Attorney you can be reassured that those you trust are authorised to make decisions in your best interests if you cannot
